Mary and Matt
So remember how I was saying that during the Christmas season I got so busy that I didn't blog a lot of things? Well... One of the things I didn't blog was Mary and Matt's wedding and I feel awful about it. It was a beautiful, crisp November day. The sun was shining and it was warm enough to go without a coat. In short, it was the kind of day a November bride prays for---especially in Ohio
I drove over to Dayton for the festivities. We started at Mary's parents' house. I love when that happens. It's personal and it feels like you're peeking into their childhood. I looked at photo after photo of Mary and her sisters growing up. I don't know what it is but I think seeing pictures of people growing up makes me feel like I know them better. Crazy? Maybe. :)
I could tell that family is very important to these two. From the bridal party to the guest list and even the priest... a lot of family and I definitely got the impression they were very close to their family.
Between the church and reception, we went to this amazing park. It had stone walls and waterfalls and a pond and it backed up to a golf course. Um... Can you say brave ladies? In their heels and gorgeous dresses, we tromped... yes, literally tromped, through the woods. We had groomsmen help us up and down and over stones and logs. Honestly, most ladies wouldn't do this but they all did it so we could get to that golf course. And I'm very grateful for the groomsmen who helped keep my less than graceful self from falling down and busting up a perfectly good camera. :)
However, I could have used their assistance a bit later when I stepped off the path to get a little closer for a photo.... and I promptly sunk into the mud halfway to my knee. Thank God I only put one foot out. If I had put both feet in.... I might still be stuck.
At any rate... it was an amazing day and I am so happy for them. We just finished their album design and I do think it's pretty awesome. What do you think?
