The Callahans

How often do you hear about the divorce rate in our country?  Too often if you ask me.  And yes...  even though I hate to admit, marriages fail.  But...  why do we talk about the failures?  Well...  Being the "Glass is half full" kind of girl that I am, I want to talk about marital success.

This is John and Shirley Callahan.

Last month, they celebrated 50 years of marriage.  FIFTY years.  I haven't even been alive for 50 years so it's hard for me to imagine 50 years of marriage.  But, in 1961, they said their vows and proceeded to raise 6 kids together.  Six kids expanded into this wonderful big family.  

How did I meet the Callahans?  Well...  I met them thanks to Katie.  Katie works at one of my favorite preschools, Ascension Lutheran Preschool.  I look forward to taking pictures there every year and not just because the kids are cute.  I have a lot of fun with the staff, too!  It was fun to see Katie outside Asension's walls.  :)
