The beauty of where I live...

So... we only live 1/2 mile off Sawmill Road but we really live in the country. There are farm fields very close to us. And... with farm fields come...critters. Say "hi" to Fuzzy the groundhog.

Julia and Ari

Julia and Ari were married back in May. Yup. As usual, it takes me a while to post photos on the blog but bless Julia---she's been waiting so patiently! Thanks!

I always enjoy it when there is a personal element to your weddings. Julia and Ari added their personal information to the yarmulke. I thought it was a really nice touch. How pretty and soft is this light?Julia and Ari opted for a first look. I understand it's not for everyone but when it's done, it seems to allow the couple a private moment before the ceremony and can you beat reactions like Ari's?!A little rain didn't dampen their fun.Signing the ketubah. Julia is just beaming.A beautiful synagogue. The exit. LOTS of bubbles. At the reception, as is customary, the couple was lifted high in their chairs. It ALWAYS makes me nervous but it looks like so much fun. This face shows how nervous I would be... ; ) A little lovin' during the first dance.Poor guy got blindfolded but he managed just fine.Amy (Julia's sister) is one of my favorite MoH's of ALL time. She's fun, cute and a little saucy too! It cracked me up when she grabbed her sister's veil and struck a very fierce pose!Good night everybody!

I saved the best for last. You all know that there are not many pictures of me at receptions. But... I totally had to make an exception for Ari's grandfather. I LOVED him!!!! I think I'm framing this one!
Julia and Ari... I was totally impressed by the two of you. You are talented, smart, committed to each other and you both come from incredible families! Thank you so much for allowing me to be a part of your day. I was truly honored.

Really quick...

I took a few days to hang with family up in New York. We drove... and we drove... and we drove... So I am a tired little photo chick today and will be taking it easy for couple of days. But... I promise, I'll share images very soon (including Julia and Ari's wedding). In the meantime, I wanted to show you a little bit of work I just did for a fellow vendor. I'm always very flattered when I get to work for a fellow vendor.

Heather and her hubby, Dana Smith of the BridalSmiths needed a new logo and I was very happy to oblige. Here's a copy of her business card. Dana's is a bit more masculine. They are a couple of wedding consultants here in town. If you're debating on whether or not to hire one, it's something I'd seriously consider. I know how helpful they are to me so I can only imagine they are invaluable to their brides.

If you aren't sure what they do or why you should have one---call Heather. I'm sure she'd be happy to talk to you about it! Have a great day!

200th post...

It feels like I've blogged way more than 200x so far. Maybe I think in terms of how many photos... At any rate, Beth and Bob.... Wow! Beautiful wedding! Look at this!!!! STUNNING!!!! Fun girls!
Still more fabulous! Hot pink shoes and Pink Peonies?! Love it!
Now... I can't quite put my finger on why I love this image so much but I really adore it!
How happy does Bob look?Beth and her dad had a little fun on their way to the ceremony. Havin' a little fun.
Took my breath away.
And finally... a very intimate moment during their first dance.

Beth and Bob, it was an awesome day! Thanks so much for having me! You'll be a sample album fairly soon. ; )

Monique and Tim

I don't usually show so many engagement photos but I had so much fun and we did a few different things so I'm sharing... Monique and Tim are awesome! She's so sweet and beautiful and he's quieter with an little boy streak. I love it!

It seems Tim has a thing for airplanes. Makes sense, since his job involves them. So we started at the OSU airport. The poor guy working with us had to have drawn the short straw. All the kissing I had these two doing made him a little uncomfortable. It was kind of funny actually!

I'm always happy when lying on the ground works. ; ) I hate getting dirty for nothing.
LOVE this! Then we were off to OSU stadium. We were fortunate that our guide was generous with the rules. How do you do OH-IO with only two people? Photoshop of course! With this couple, there was a lot of laughing and teasing going on. I love that we caught a few of those moments. (If you ever see Tim, tease him about the gun show he offered in his photos. Those biceps are serious.)
And in the smokin' hot category!!!! My favorite...
September will come fast! Can't wait for your big day. I just know we'll have a ridiculous amount of fun! If this e-session was any indication, lots of laughs to be had! You guys rock!

5...10...15...20
After a plateau that felt endless, I'm finally back to losing. I've dropped 20 pounds total. Four dumbbells worth of weight is GONE!!! Again, as I hold the weight outside my body, it feels really heavy. 20 lbs. is substantial. I'm pretty stoked. I've gone down a size in clothes but am not rushing out for a new wardrobe just yet since I'm not done losing. Well. I did buy a new pair of wedding pants and a belt. My old pants were falling down and I really didn't want to end up on America's Funniest Home Videos as the pantsless photo chick. ; ) I'd like to make my mark on the U.S.A. but I'd rather do it with stellar photography.
I wondered about putting my weight loss adventure on here because it is pretty personal and maybe a little boring but I decided that it keeps me honest. It keeps me working toward my goals and I found out it had another benefit. It seems the paint cans image made an impression. I've heard from a few people struggling with weight themselves and seeing the paint cans inspired them. Wow. How flipping cool is that?! So... If you're struggling with your weight or your self-esteem isn't where you want it to be. Go for it!!! Do a little something about it. If this potato chip fiend can drop 20 then you can reach your goals too.
Not only that... I have amazing client/friends. So many of you have written words of encouragement. You've urged me to stick with it despite a plateau and it really meant a lot to me. I'll keep you posted on my progress. Tell me about yours too. Have a great day and I'll have more photos for you to see soon. There are some swee---eeet weddings and engagements coming up. I can't wait to share with you.

Julie and Chris

I had so much fun at this session! I took more photos than I usually take and I got so geeked out for the last images of the day, I thought I might have a coronary. This couple is fun!!! You can tell by one of the first images of the day. Helloooooo ornery Chris! Love it!Gorgeous! Fierce! Super-model-esque! Could be a shampoo ad. ; )
His mom had this fantastic barn. Seriously?! I was in heaven. Make fun of the wagon wheel if you must but I think this works. This isn't Olan Mills' wagon wheel.
More yummy late day light. And..... I'M IN LOVE!!!!!!! This will more than likely be on my wall one day soon---probably very soon. It's GOR-GEOUS!!!!
Can't wait for the big day! I know we'll have an awesome day!

Kate and Ben

Pardon my lousy memory. I don't know if I blogged about their January wedding and I was too busy (ok, lazy) to go back and look. You see, January is always a blur for me. I spend September, October, November and December working anywhere from 12-16 hour days for 6 or 7 days a week. It's exhausting and by the time January rolls around... my mind is a little mush-like. Don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining. I'm just explaining why I can't remember...

At any rate, we're here to share some fun photos of Kate and Ben. Their reception was being held at the Clintonville Women's Club. And since the Park of Roses is right next door, it made perfect sense to spend a little time there before the reception.

I LOVE this bouquet. Apparently, it was a last minute inspiration. Good job to April's flowers for putting it together so beautifully. (Couldn't find a site for a link but their phone # is 488-5949)
So... When y'all ask me why I like morning and evening appointments, it has absolutely nothing to do with my odd sleeping hours. It's because of the light. Look how yummy, buttery soft, and warm this light is. You don't get this light at noon people. Tasty!A little splendor amongst the purple. I really do not know which I like better, the color or the sepia.... I'm pretty sure I'm leaning sepia. Seems more dramatic and timeless. Your thoughts? As for the reception, it was very low key and relaxed---just like Kate and Ben. They had a bluegrass band. I was surprised and disturbed at how many John Denver songs I know. ; ) There was dinner, a cake and dad's embarrassing toast. Can you guess when this photo was taken?Loved your wedding guys! I love that you made it personal. I love that you didn't bow to tradition and did things your way. It was awesome! Thanks for having me!
