William
A lifetime ago, when I was in 4th grade, I went to Annehurst school. While I was there I met so many people who I would literally grow up with. From 4th grade to 12th grade to college and now as parents ourselves. Between facebook and my recent class reunion, I am so happy to reconnect with so many of them. And, of course, reconnecting also means photographing. :)
Laura Sherman was in my 4th grade class, at least I think so. I moved to Annehurst in the middle of the year so I don't have a class photo to prove it but... I know she was there because we played on the playground together. We were playing on the swings one time when I fell off... I landed on my back. The squad came to school; tied me to a backboard and hauled me off to the emergency room. Along with my bruised ego, I had a bruised back. Lucky for me, I landed flat out & I didn't hit my head. Anyway... that's how I know for sure Laura went to my school. :)
So fast forward to now. Laura and I are yet again living within a couple miles of each other. Really. What are the odds? We reconnected on facebook and we run into each other at the grocery store. So, of course, we'd eventually get together for photos. We met last Sunday at Scioto Park. It was a toasty day and that usually means a lazy day so hanging at the park was a perfect scenario.
Our main goal was photos of her son, William. Isn't he cute?
If you're a young boy, photos aren't exactly the most exciting thing around. A river? Now that's pretty cool. There are fish, crawdads, ducks, etc... So... you stop with your dad to check it out.
And while you're there, this guy comes to see if you have any bread he might be able to eat. Um... Duck? Goose? Not really sure what this is.... a goose, I think but either way, he was a friendly fella.
My favorite!
And when you and your parents are tired of mom's crazy high school friend making you stand on hard, slimy rocks in the river.... you let her know how you feel about it.
Hmmm.... That Riverbottom nickname may be truer than I'd like to admit.
We finished up with what I thought would be a nice little lounge in the shady grass... Too bad the gnats weren't feeling the lounge part. Poor Williams was bugged! But... we managed a sweet pic anyway.
I totally enjoyed the day. Thanks guys!
