Elizabeth and Thomas
It is a very rare occasion when you'll see the engagement session and wedding blogged in one post but today is the day. Elizabeth and Thomas lived in Virginia and North Carolina during their planning process. They hired me after seeing my blog, my website and after skype-ing with me. Since their trips to Columbus were limited, we really weren't sure we'd get in an engagement session before the wedding but... Lizzie... being a super smart woman, decided that timing be darned and we'd have a session the week of the wedding so we could get to know each other. I'm so glad she recognized the importance of that.
Of course, no problem at all. We met at Buca di Beppo for lunch where we chatted about wedding plans, how they met, nicknames (Pokey---like slow) and I learned that Thomas was actually in the movie "Cyborg" with Jean Claude Van Damme. That's a piece of trivia that was most unexpected. :) At any rate, after lunch, we popped around the Arena district for a bit and had a little fun!
Good! Tuesday afternoon got us all relaxed and ready for Saturday. You can't look much more relaxed than this. :)
Every bouquet had an antique brooch on it. LOVED this one!Our talented bride made this herself. Um.... Can I have one to wear while I photoshop my days away? Please....
Our groom serves our country in the US Navy. I'm always impressed by our service men & women but the medal on the right made me extra proud.
Speaking of our bride's talent, she designed all her invitations & this program. SO pretty!
Poor little man was tired of standing. His parents were mortified but honestly, this is a story that will live on in their family for years to come! I LOVE it!!!!
Andy snagged this little piece of beauty. That light is like buttah. Yummy!
While we were downtown on a very hot day, what should happen by but the ice cream man.... How could you say no?
A man all in white & an ice cream cart... Nope. I couldn't resist.
I look at this picture and all I hear is the theme for "An Officer and a Gentleman". Sing it Joe Cocker!
I've seen this done before but I always thought they were popping the cork. They aren't. They're actually cutting the bottle. Take a close look at the bottle top. AMAZING!
Those swords are multi-taskers.
These parents love their kids....
This couple was so adorable, I had to share them with you. They were so snuggly, I asked them how long they've been married. I thought they were newlyweds but it turns out.... they've been married 35 years. If you want marital advice, I'd ask them.
This poor sailor caught the garter and was asked to put it on the leg of the girl that caught the bouquet. Only... she's only 17 and her dad wanted to make sure everything went okay. :) It was a great moment and thankfully he learned you can't actually die of embarrassment
At the end of the night, their friends surrounded them to send them off in style. It worked.
