Colleen and Andy

I love Colleen.  She has a great smile, a great laugh, a really good attitude and she's got style.  :)  When we started talking about her wedding, I got so excited.  Peacocks, also beautiful and stylish.  Coincidence?  i think not.  So to say that I've been looking forward to this wedding would be an understatement.  I was downright stoked!  I knew before I even took photo #1 that it would have some fabulous photos.

We started with a first look at the topiary garden downtown.  I chuckle a bit when I see this photo because I kind of think it sums up their personalities.  Look at her. all bubbly and excited while he's happy but thoughtful.
The look on his face is enough to bring this sappy photo chick to tears.
As I said, Colleen's got style.  Check out her necklace!  Vintage but modern and very chic!
 Looking fab!
As we'd go along taking photos, I could see her excitement building and I'd have to give her a second to let it out.  LOVE the letting it out photos!  It is pure joy and giggles.
Heather from Bloomtastic rocked these flowers, don't you think?

Well, hello ladies!  You all look fantastic and your shoes are enviable!
Not to be outdone by the ladies.
One of the great things about this day is that I came away with several really good stories to tell.  This is one of them.  Four sisters.  How cool would that be?  It was clear by their interactions that they were definitely close.
While posing, one sister leaned on another then another leaned on the bride and then all 4 got caught up in the moment.  This was the tipping point.  :)  So sweet.

There's that bursting with happy thing happening again.

 All kinds of details.

 Doesn't the Bluestone look pretty?!
Another story....   Cocktail hour was held in the 2nd floor lounge so of course, some folks opted to use the elevator to get downstairs.  Unfortunately, the elevator decided to 'take a break' with Colleen's grandmother and 3 other guests inside.  Columbus' finest came out and saved the day.  And honestly, it was really fast.  I'm so grateful that no one was hurt and later, it'll be laughed about.
First dance.....  not your typical slow dance.
Still more bursting!  I absolutely adore this about her!
And...  she's a bit of a rebel which gives her a soft spot in my heart.  Why have a cake when you can have cheesecake and each guest can have their own feathered piece of tastiness.

And this story truly touched my heart.  Andy and Colleen had made scrapbook pages for couples who are role models of marriage:  parents, relatives and grandparents.  I noticed one grandfather leading people over to see his photo contributions....  This is one photo of Georg and his lovely bride Teressa.  He told me they were married 52 years.  He pointed out the young & good looking groom and joked that now he was only good looking.  They were married in Salzberg, Austria.  The home of The Sound of Music, he reminded me.  (He had the adorable accent to prove it.)

As he told me about where they were from and he looked at the photo of his bride, I saw the bittersweet feelings in his crystal blue eyes.  He was obviously still in love with her and was quite proud of his lovely bride.  I can only imagine what he was thinking but I can tell you this...  He still loves his bride very much.
It truly brought what I do full circle.  I imagined Andy and Colleen at their grandchild's wedding sharing their wedding memories.  And whether I'm alive or gone, whether they remember me or they don't....  Their photos will live on....  for generations to come.  I am so blessed to be even a small part of something so special!

Okay...  Wipe the tears and write on, Donna.  Sweet moments were followed by fun ones.
The boys got together to sing along with the band.  In tune or out of tune, it's a fun photo.....

Then...  the ladies put them to shame.  They got on stage and sang with the band like rock stars.  They rocked it!!!

Whew...  Just reliving the day has left me a little tired.  It was a whirlwind of a day and I am so thankful to have been in the middle of it all with them.  They've left Columbus to become southerners.  Virginia is their new home and I know they'll be missed.  Best wishes to them and many safe returns to Columbus!!!!
