The No Rehearsal Dinner
We're doing things a little backward. We already had the vow renewal but since there was no rehearsal, it seemed weird. I decided we could still have the dinner even without the rehearsal. :) So... We invited Brooke, Brad, Kate, & Ryan over for dinner. We did it last Friday.
If you remember last Friday, it started out very overcast & chilly. I was really worried we wouldn't be able to do it outside because I had my heart set on it. Luckily for me, the sun came out and although it was still a little chilly, it was actually pretty comfortable.
I got a little carried away but I just couldn't help myself. The truth is, I am a Martha Stewart wanna-be. I like to entertain and I had a blast figuring out a menu & some decor. What do you think?
I loved my little details and I think yellow is such a happy color.
I thought the yellow was happy & Spring-like. Which... where is that spring anyway? Too much rain!
Back to the party. I made a stuffed chicken w/roasted red pepper cream sauce and a salad with blackberries, raisins & craisins in it. It was so tasty it didn't even need dressing but the balsamic vinaigrette did the trick! A lot of fun was had by all.
Nice hook, Andy.
My kiddos LOVE their Auntie Kate & Auntie Brooke!!!! So do I. They are fantastic friends!
And... I took one more photo of the table before we all started eating. The general consensus was it looked like Brothers & Sisters. Yup... A little bit...
It was a wonderful night & I can't wait to have more just like it. I feel very blessed to have these friends and this family. Life is really good. :)
