OK. I am a confessed workaholic but Andy MADE me take a vacation and I'm glad he did. We flew on Skybus to Massachusetts. Our first stop was the house I lived in when I was a little girl. It looks very different now. It used to be blue wood siding and now it's white vinyl siding. And of course, it looks smaller than I remember.

In Boston, we saw the Bunker Hill monument---Austin wanted to see some history and climb all 294 steps to the top of the monument. No elevator. The kids really enjoyed the view from the top. It reminded me of my dad. He used to be in a group called the Minutemen. They used to reenact battles from the Revolutionary War and I remember going to Bunker Hill for one reenactment. We also went on the USS Constitution (Old Ironsides). Aidan liked seeing the cannons there. Devin like the ship's "steering wheel". We also went to Fenway Park, home of my beloved RED SOX---who are on fire right now! Oddly enough, our tour guide, Curry, goes to school at Ohio Wesleyan. It really is a small world. The field looked great but since they were setting up for the Police concert, there was a lot of "stuff" on the field. My favorite spot was in the Monster seats. Great view! Apparently, you have to go online and join a lottery for the opportunity to buy seats on the Big Green Monster.

We also went to Gloucester. If you ever saw The Perfect Storm (starring George Clooney) you know Gloucester. It's all fishing boats, lobster traps, etc...
We went raspberry picking near Crane Beach and I have the bug bites to prove it. Oh, and the cool gas pump photo. I loved how rusty it was.

As a photographer in Central Ohio where the only "beach" available is at Alum Creek (not so much), I've ALWAYS wanted a beach portrait. So... on Friday, I dragged my kids to Marblehead. Near the lighthouse,
I made them climb on rocks (making Andy very nervous) for my Christmas card photo.
I think they look pretty cute, don't you? The kids really had a good time on vacation even though we totally wore them out. Devin made some big advances in swimming and all Aidan talks about is growing up to play for the Red Sox. Austin enjoyed the history of the area. It's odd to see towns established before our country was even a country.

Finally, it was time to come home. I was totally ready to sleep in my own bed again and our flight home was a bit delayed. I didn't mind. It let me get this colorful sunset photo through the window. If we'd been on time, I would have missed it.
