We only live 1/2 mile off Sawmill Road but that short distance is just enough to make us "in the country" as far as critters are concerned. We've seen all kinds run through our yard: large snapping turtles, painted turtles, fox, skunks (remember the babies?), coyotes, deer, groundhogs and an assorted collection of birds & squirrels.
Well.... This morning, I got to add another critter to the list. I was in the garage working on my not so little project. I kept hearing this noise... a scratching or scraping kind of noise. It wasn't loud but it was consistent and annoying. I assumed there were birds making the noise so I would make a loud noise and it would stop for a bit. Finally, I got up to see what it was....
Stuart Little here was having a snack in my garage. Now... I'm not afraid of mice. And this little guy was not afraid of me, either. He looked up and me and went back to eating. But... sorry little guy... you cannot stay in my garage. I thought about shooing him out but was afraid he wouldn't go the right way so I opted for trapping & moving him.
I trapped him under this container. He didn't get upset or nervous at all.
In fact, he took a little drink of water off the sides of the container. Austin and I thought he might be hungry so we put a little birdseed in with him.
He enjoyed a little nibble.
Then, I carried him to a location FAR from my house and let him go. Hey Stuart... spread the word. You and your little mouse-y friends can play in the yard all you want but don't go in the garage. The food there will be catered by Orkin.

I got a couple of hungry snakes....lol! Crazy that he was that easy to catch! My cat brought in a half dead one and it was all over the place!
I thoroughly enjoyed that little story and the catering comment cracked me up! Thanks! <3
I swear it would have let me pick it up. It didn't freak out in the least. And no snakes!!! I'm scared to death of 'em. :)
A lizard? Yikes... I can't say I'd have been as calm. Now that you found me, I hope you come back. :)
