The wedding industry is, in essence, a branch of the hospitality industry. Hotels and caterers are a big part of the wedding industry. Columbus is quite blessed to have a wonderful and thriving hospitality industry and now I know that a big source of talent comes from our very own Ohio State.
We're nearing graduation. Many students are on the hunt for jobs in the big wide world and The Big Dish is all about letting those students rub elbows with some fine job-wielding hospitality businesses. You have to love an industry where even job hunting is an excuse to have a party.
The venue was the Nationwide 4-H center on campus. I had no idea this building existed and really... it's a pretty nice venue for you folks that need to do some planning.
Many restaurants provided food: the Refectory, Bravo, Bob Evans, University Catering, Columbus Fish Market and more. Check out the beautiful food from Cameron Mitchell...
and The Blackwell
As I watched the chefs painstakingly assemble this food, I realized how much of an art form food can be.
A big shout out to Angela Pace who emceed the event. Can I just say? She's ornery as all get out and I totally want to hang out with her!!!
At the end of the night, the parting gifts were like heaven.
Godiva!!! (Cue the heavenly choir!)
It was a fun event; it raised money to help the students; people networked... All in all I'd say that's a pretty successful evening. Congratulations to the students and thank you to the sponsors!!
