Occasionally, I assist my couples with wedding invitations or programs or other graphics-related items. Well, for a while I've been working on a project and in the end, the couple decided to go another direction. And... I could look at that as a failure or as finishing in second place but you know what? I decided to think about my Word of the Year. Joy.
And creating a pretty invitation brings me joy. I LOVE these invitations and I'm sharing them with you even though the clients don't want them. Tell me what you think.
It's a black pocket fold invitation with accents of candy pink.
It's finished off with a printed belly band.
And a GORGEOUS outer envelope!
Let me know what you think. I can't wait to hear from you!

Love them! My own wedding invites were nearly identical ( from mygatsby.com). I hand stamped and embossed a custom anchor onto each of them.
Thanks Becky! I was pretty proud of them. LOVE the anchor idea!
I love them. Graphic Design is fun until people tell you they don't want to use stuff you've poured all your energy into - I try hard to be professional about it and not to take it personally since I chose to do that for a living, but I sometimes forget that and get frustrated and irritated when people I work for/with choose something that I believe is not nearly as good as my first option.
But then I remember that if they don't use it I have something for me/my portfolio which can be better because it's still mine and I don't have to share or relinquish some of my best work to other people! (Which I think you realized also!) :)
It is hard not to take it personally. I have that problem with my photography too. It's business but it's not. It's your art and you love it! Hope all is well with you!
These are beautiful. And mine are perfect! Don't let it get you down!!!
I know who you are Ms. Anonymous. :) I'm not down about it at all. Pretty samples. :)
