Losing it....

This past weekend was my cousin's wedding.  It was a fantastic time and so fun to see the family I love so much.  It took me a little while to get used to being a guest.  That poor photographer...  He had to think I was a stalker. I was checking him out for the first hour or so....But I eventually settled into guest mode and had a really good time.

As I started to get dressed for the day, I couldn't wear the dress I wanted to...  at least not comfortably.  That baby was so tight, I thought my head was swelling up... stress doll style.  I could wear my other dress but not without the ever-lovin' Spanx.  My thighs have started rubbing together.  I was afraid that during dancing I would start a fire from all the friction!!!

So when my cousins and I got together Sunday and we were all complaining about the same thing, a contest was born.  The Bailey's Biggest Loser Challenge is ON!!!!  For a mere $20 entry fee, I was in.  The person with the biggest weight loss percentage at Christmas walks away with nearly $200.  Not a bad haul....  :)  I was excited until.....  we all had to weigh in Biggest Loser style---in front of each other.

My weight is a number that has been a more closely guarded secret than the Colonel's recipe.  More undercover than James Bond and lesser known than who killed Tupac.  And here I was...  revealing it to the cousins who love to tease....  Oh God...  Not good....

I hauled my scale out from its dark bathroom cave and placed it on the kitchen floor.  One after another, we all stepped on the scale and revealed those numbers we all hate.  Since we all like to give each other grief, I expected a smart crack or two but there was only one...  Yes...  at my expense...  but so true that I couldn't argue and I absolutely laughed at it myself.  Not sure if sharing it here is appropriate so if you want to know, contact me.  :)

And so it began...  I spent Sunday evening cruising fitness magazines.  I made notes.  I ripped out exercises.  I started working out again.  My goal is to lose 40-50 pounds by  Christmas.  That's about 2 lbs. a week.  Okay.  I know that's a pretty lofty goal especially when I'm really looking to lose it in a healthy way but I think I can do it.

And...  Andy and I added another incentive.  If ....  WHEN I get to my goal weight, we're going to take a 2nd honeymoon.  The kind where you'd probably wear a really nice bathing suit....  Woo hoo!!!  That's a pretty good incentive!  So....  wish me luck!!!  I'm up against 7 guys!!!  Knowing that guys lose easier than us girls....  I'm a little worried but I can do this!!!

I'll keep you posted and if you have any great tips, leave them in the comments below.  I'd love an advantage!

Thanks bunches, Maggie!!! I am hoping to beat those Bailey boys. Bragging rights may be worth more than the money. wink wink.
