Arizona - part 3

I have to admit that after our Saturday adventures, I was pretty tired on Sunday.  We called Cristy's mom & a friend, Terry, to meet us for lunch.  We picked up Cristy's mom---affectionately referred to as Dave---at the Walmart.  Can you believe what I saw there?!!!  The Oscar Meyer Wienermobile!!!!  Love it!  Can you sing the song?  I so remember it from when I was a kid...  My bologna has a first name.  It's O-S-C-A-R

That jingle is now stuck in your head for today. You're welcome.  :-P

We went to a funky little restaurant, Los Olivos, I think.  It had all kinds of strange little rooms.  We were put it this one.  Believe it or not, that's the roof with a unique version of skylights.
After lunch, we needed a little walk.  So....  one block over, we ran across "The Mission".  This is exactly what I came to Arizona to see.  Love the architecture.  Love the color.  Isn't it funny how this trip was a mini-church tour?  Churches have the best architecture and if you're looking for peace of mind, seems like a good place to start.
Now...  I believe this is our Lady of Guadalupe but don't quote me.  My memory of the class where I learned about her is a little foggy.  So, I'm putting in a link to some information about her.  Click the photo for the link.
A full lunch, a little walking and a little shopping has us kind of tired so we just chilled at home the rest of the day...  at least until close to sunset.  Cristy lives pretty much at the edge of civilization so this was just a short walk from her house.

I bravely ventured out into the desert, praying, my arch nemesis the snake would not be seen.  No snakes here....
or here...  I like this one.  Seeing the moon and the landscape and the few houses in the distance.  There's just something about it.
No snakes here either just big 'ol cacti.
As you can see it started to get pretty dark.  We hit the trails back to her house.  It's a bit of an uneasy feeling when you're in the desert, you can't exactly see where you need to go.  The wind is blowing and everything around you is unfamiliar.  At one point, the wind kicked up and rustled some of the brush.  I won't lie.  I had a little panic attack thinking a critter was in the brush.  I moved a little faster and gave Cristy a scare too.  Twenty feet or so later, we laughed when we realized I panicked over nothing.  Hope you can picture it 'cause it was pretty funny.
