A BIG DAY...
You wouldn't know it by the peaceful image above but today is a really BIG day in my house. I woke up to my sweet little Devin snuggling with me--willing me awake because she's so excited. Today is the first day of kindergarten for her. Miss Bindergarten might be ready but I'm definitely not.
We've got the 2nd grade backpack and the kindergarten backpack all ready to go: pencils, markers, crayons and paper.
Daddy went in to work late today so he could be there for Miss Devin. She was so happy he did.
Finally it was time to go outside and wait for the bus. Devin is all grins.
Aidan looks a little more pensive. It's a new year for him, too and this year, he's sharing his school with his sister.
Luckily, my kiddos are thick as thieves.
Finally, the bus came. Just like her big brother, she jumped on that bus and never looked back. It's a good thing she didn't because if she had, she'd have seen her pitiful mom with tears streaming down her face. I can't believe my baby girl is heading off to school. Her world is getting so much bigger.
As if sending your daughter off to kindergarten wasn't emotionally draining enough, today is Austin's 18th birthday. Oh yeah. I'm havin' a day! Thank God his college doesn't start in the next day or two or I'd be a real mess!

What a big day! I can only imagine how hard it was to watch her climb on to the bus. Your kids are great though!
