Barb and Jason

They got married on August 25th, a momentous day for so many reasons. Ok. It was their wedding day. Momentous! It was my oldest son's 16th birthday. Momentous! It was kickoff day for the 2007 Buckeye football season. Momentous!

Barb and Jason planned their outdoor function at the Longaberger Alumni House. Melinda there was the sweetest! The folding chairs were all set up and we were tentatively watching the weather. We did photos of Barb outside. No problem. I love the photo of her below because she is absolutely smiling because I was making her do weird things. She kept reminding me that she & Jason aren't fun and I'm trying to make her do fun things. Ha Ha! I have proof. You are fun!!!

After a few more fun photos, Barb went back inside to watch the radar. Jason and I went outside. As we were photographing him by himself....the tornado sirens went off. MOMENTOUS!!!! So.... after firing off a couple more photos we went inside to plan for an indoor ceremony. It all worked out great. Heck. They even got a rainbow to shine behind them while they were taking their vows! Jason's brother did a good job of using the day as a metaphor for marriage during his blessing. "There are storms but after the storms there are rainbows." True Dat! ; )

A couple photos of the happy couple and then.... the photo of Barb checking Jason's watch. It's one of my faves b/c it's very appropriate for the day. My girl Barb is something I only wish I could be....prompt and organized. So.... keeping track of the time and making sure the events occurred as planned was right up her alley. Despite the rain, the sirens, etc... everything went off without a hitch and on time. I was impressed.

Having a bridal party all decked out in Scarlet and Gray was cool. Then, the tables weren't just numbered. They were numbered with the jerseys of some great Buckeye players . So, you may have been seated at the Archie Griffin table #45 or the Troy Smith table #10. I photographed Herbie's jersey for a couple of reasons. A) Herbie is an alumni OSU can be proud of. He doesn't sell cars or anything cheesy. If you see him in an ad, it has a charitable purpose behind it. I like that. B) Herbie is just darn cute. ; ) C) I've photographed his kids at their preschool and I happen to think they are adorable as well. At any rate... Go Bucks! and Congrats Barb and Jason!

Anyway.
