What do you get when you cross a referred bride, a love of silly movies, awesome parents and a gorgeous day? You get Megan and JT's wedding, of course!
I photographed Georgia's wedding last August. Georgia works with Megan's dad so I got to meet Cathy and Greg at Georgia's wedding. We hit it off right away. I definitely wanted to work with them since I'm all about working with people I enjoy. A little bit later Megan and JT came in. They are gorgeous AND nice! That's quite a combo in my book. JT has a little JFK jr. thing while Megan is just a unique beauty. All I saw was SAMPLE photos!!!! They didn't let me down.
OK. So Friday night we started out with the rehearsal and then rehearsal dinner. With 8 attendants on each side, it was a big and feisty bridal party. There was a whole lot of movie quotes thrown around, especially from Borat and Talladega Nights. "Not so much" has a whole new meaning for me now. Anyone that quotes silly movies is someone I want to hang with. I knew their wedding would be full of fun and laughter.
On Saturday, we started at the hotel. We photographed the guys getting ready there. Then it was off to casa de Barcus for photos of Megan getting ready. It was very intimate and I could tell I was pretty attached to this group when I teared up several times during the day. I know I know!!! I'm a BIG softie but I can't help it. I think it's a part of who I am that helps me do my job.
Anyway, after the church we were off to Brookside Country club. LOVE Debbie! She's so fun to work with. And my friend Rob from Encore Entertainment took care of the excellent party atmosphere. They were partying at midnight like the night had just started. I never saw the dance floor empty. I got to have some really nice conversations with friends, family and bridal party. I do hope I get to photograph a wedding or two from this bunch.
I really had a great time and they made me feel like I was part of their wedding celebration. What a blessing to work with such great people. I can't wait to hear about the honeymoon in Aruba. I talked to Cathy this morning and she said she saw Megan and JT on the hotel's webcam this morning. Gotta love the Internet!
