Multi-tasking week long recap

So...  I'm hoping this experiment is the beginning of better habits...   recapped days 1 through 4, so here's a quick recap of days 5, 6 & 7.  It's simple.  I didn't multi-task...  Not because I learned my lesson but because when you have a camera in hand, it's hard to multi-task.  When you're cleaning the basement, it's hard to multi-task.    Now, yesterday...  I truly sat at my desk most of the day and did only what I needed to do except that I did eat at my desk...  twice....

Anyway....  Here's what I learned this week....

I am challenged by this more than I ever thought I would be.

I am easily distracted.  Like...  Hey did I ever tell you about my dog?  She's a chocolate lab and I want a new camera.  My kitchen needs new floors.  How cute is Bradley Cooper?  It's a gorgeous day; I should take pictures of something.  The fair is happening....  kind of easily distracted.    Seriously...  Easily distracted.  Can we blame this on a creative mind?
I digress...

I eat more when I eat while I'm working.

Multi-tasking is a habit and just like my love of potato chips and failure to exercise, it's hard to  break.  (Why can't I quit you, potato chip?)

Multi-tasking is a two-fold challenge between habit and distraction (making it super hard for me).  Another way of putting this?  I'm screwed.....

And finally....  one week isn't nearly enough time to really 'quit' multi-tasking but it was a great experiment in awareness.  Just by thinking about it, I stopped myself from some pretty unproductive behaviors so in that sense, I'll call this a somewhat successful adventure.  I'm going to keep trying.  I'm going to keep trying to train my brain to be more focused when it needs to be.  I'll let it go off all creative and crazy at other times...

On that note....  I think it might be time go off and be all creative and crazy.  Have a great Monday, y'all!!!
